Land Stewardship with the Nature Conservancy of Iowa

Sam Bigalke '27 was awarded the Anna Beal Conservation Internship with the Nature Conservancy of Iowa. Throughout this internship, he will be traveling across the state to assist with and learn basic land stewardship principles, including identifying and controlling invasive species, protecting threatened and endangered species, restoring native plants and pollinator habitats, and learning prescribed fire skills.

What I hope to get from this internship

I am hopeful this internship will set me up for not only the rest of my undergraduate year, but further into the future. I am honored to work with such a prestigious organization, with hopes this sets me up with relationships and connections which will only further my career goals.
