Storytelling and Community at the Chautauqua Institution

Claudia Collazo '26 is one of two Cornell students selected through a competitive application process to intern at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, New York. Claudia is participating in a four week-long workshops covering various aspects of the creative writing process. She is also contributing to public events as a docent for the Poetry Maker Space at Chautauqua, providing curatorial and administrative support for events organized by Chautauqua Literary Arts, and performing duties related to the organization’s publications and social media.

About me

I am a Posse scholar from Puerto Rico, pursuing a major in creative writing and a minor in theater. While I would love to explore completely different genres and styles of writing, one of my main goals as an author is to become a professional screenplay writer.

What I hope to get from this internship

I hope to make the most out of this internship. To me, this means making connections, and becoming a better writer. At the same time, I hope to have a fun experience that I can remember fondly in the future.
