This summer, Carter Lampe ‘27 will launch an exciting project for the Family Pet Hospital in Sunset Hills MO. There, Carter will carefully observe the needs and practices of veterinary professionals. Based on this insight, he will research AI tools in use in comparable clinics. Finally, Carter will draw on his considerable computer science knowledge to analyze, design, and present AI tools he believes will benefit the practice.

I am Carter Lampe, a Computer Science Major at Cornell College. I have an interest in AI integration to assist and empower today’s professionals. I aspire to shape the way the world views and uses computer science in any and every field.
This internship will help me gain experience working with non-comp-sci professionals and talking about the impact my work can have on theirs. I will gain amazing experience working on backend, frontend, and cyber security tools working on my internship’s own web application. The use of AI as a tool will be an emphasis, with hopefully finding integration that is impactful.
