Language Lab Intern - Catherine McAuley Center

This summer, Mardoche Ntonku ‘26 will serve as a Language Lab Intern at the Catherine McAuley Center in Cedar Rapids IA. He will support immigrants and refugees as they work to build new life opportunities through education. As a French major with the goal of working in multilingual, multicultural environments, Mardoche looks forward to using skills honed at Cornell to serve the Cedar Rapids community.

About me:

My name is Mardoche (Mardo) Ntonku, and I am a junior at Cornell College double majoring in Business Management and French. I enjoy learning about leadership, communication, and different cultures through both my studies and experiences. I am motivated to continue growing professionally and personally while building meaningful connections with others. My goal is to use my education and skills to create positive opportunities in the future.

What I hope to get from this internship

I hope to gain practical experience working with immigrants and refugees while improving my communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Through this internship, I want to strengthen my ability to support others through education, especially in language learning and digital literacy. I also hope to develop professional teamwork skills and gain experience in a diverse and community-focused environment.
