About me

My name is Cameron Reimers and I am a second year Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major at Cornell College. I am from Iowa City and love to go back when I can to spend time with my family and attend sporting events. I am passionate about research and the sciences which lead me to Dr. Craig Tepper at Cornell where I have been a part of researching coral adaptation to global warming in the Caribbean since my junior year of highschool. I hope to go into research as a career and maybe have my own lab one day.

What I hope to get from this internship

I am very excited for this internship to dip my toes into the medical side of research, something I have not been able to do before. Drug development is a very important field in dealing with the growing problems of antibiotic resistance, so I hope to contribute to that. I am looking forward to learning new lab techniques from Dr. Wlodarchak and Dr. Keller, as well as perfecting current ones I practice. Crystallography, protein purification, and microscopy all interest me.
