Wrapping Up a Summer to Remember

This summer I had the amazing opportunity to live in a completely new state and do a job that I see myself doing in my future.

Getting in the Swing of Things

I am now nearly at the halfway point of my internship at the Baruch Marine Field Laboratory and am growing to love it more every day.

Week 1: Learning About Baruch Marine Field Laboratory

On my first day at Baruch, I started off strong with going knee to waist deep in the marsh and mud to pull a seine.

About me

I am a member of the volleyball team, environmental club, and the geology club. This summer I will be interning at the Baruch Marine Field Laboratory in Georgetown, South Carolina for approximately 9 and a half weeks.

What I hope to get from this internship

Through this internship, I hope to learn more about the various industries my environment science and geology majors could be used in as well as the inner workings of a lab setting. I am excited for the hands-on experiences this internship will provide me which will help me better stand out when applying for jobs in the future. As an individual I like to stay busy so I plan to make the most out of my time in South Carolina by not only taking in as much information as I can but also exploring the area around me. I love to stay active, so in my downtime I will most likely be hiking, swimming, playing sand volleyball, or just enjoying the nature around me.
