About me

I am currently studying at Cornell, hoping to attend medical school to become a pediatric orthopedic surgeon! I’m from a big family in small-town Iowa and have grown to love children and medicine. I am currently working as a patient care tech in the OB in Pella, Iowa, and absolutely love every second of it. When I’m not working, I like to take my dog for walks, hang out with friends and family, read, paddleboard, and play pickleball.

What I hope to get from this internship

I am very grateful to have been granted the opportunity to spend my summer doing research with Children’s. Overall, I’m excited to be participating in clinical research as that is not something I have seen or done thus far. I know that with this experience, I will strengthen my knowledge and understanding of medical research as a whole and of orthopedics specifically. I am also looking forward to the opportunity to shadow physicians in different specialties, as I begin to explore potential career paths for my future.
