Cognitive Neurophysiology at the Mayo Clinic Center for Sleep Medicine

Laura McLees '25 is one of two Cornell interns selected for the competitive internship at the Mayo Clinic Center for Sleep Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Laura is researching polysomnograms, neurophysiologic data, and analysis of sleep stages with Dr. Erik St. Louis.

About me

My name is Laura McLees and I am a junior here at Cornell College. My major is Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I work as a peer consultant in the writing studio and a chemistry tutor. Outside of academics, I spend my time cooking, baking, kayaking, canoeing, and hiking. I plan on continuing my education at medical school after graduation.

What I hope to get from this internship

I look forward to making connections, learning professional skills, and conducting meaningful research at this internship. These will help me in a future career in healthcare.
