About me

Hi! I am Charlotte McHughs, a junior at Cornell College from Denver, Colorado, studying biochemistry, molecular biology, and kinesiology. I am the president of our Sports Medicine Assistant organization and have been a student-athlete my entire life. These experiences helped me realize I wanted to go into sports medicine to help other athletes come back stronger than ever from their injuries. Some of my favorite hobbies to do outside of school are paddle-boarding with my puppies and reading.

What I hope to get from this internship

Through this internship, I hope to gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of working in a professional laboratory setting. Over the next 10 weeks, my goal is to expand my knowledge and proficiency in a range of lab techniques, while also developing a stronger foundation in scientific research practices. I am particularly interested in exploring the complex relationships and interactions between different systems of the body, and I aim to apply these insights to my future career as a physician.
